Jeff is thanking God today for His generous heart towards His people!

  2. Zibby Ling Says:

Hi Clear River. I am joining Jeff as we pray together for the needs of our fellowship. I love the verse in Psalm 116 that says “He bends down to listen.” Isn’t that a wonderful thought. Our Heavenly Father bends down so He can hear our every word like a dad would do for his small child. We serve a mighty God and a loving Father – He does hear our voices.

  3. Barbara Finity Says:

A petition to the Clear River family on behalf of Bob & Robin Sturm: Bob’s biopsy was performed this morning so please earnestly pray for a wonderful healing report. “The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much” (James 5:16).

  4. Ann Thompson Says:

    Jeff,

Just found this today and will join in..My praise is that you’re doing this! God has been waking me up about 3am to pray in the last two weeks. I’ve had a great time unloading all I can think( ACTS praying:adoration, confession, thanksgiving, supplication )until I’m empty. Then right back to sleep.I will now make this a nightly 40-day committment..Your flock has scattered but is never gone!

    with love,
    Ann

  5. Father – thank You for Your grace and mercy extended to us through Your Son! Thank You Father that we have confidence through Jesus to enter directly into Your presence – indeed to dwell there! Father I lift the upcoming womens’ retreat before You and asked that You will go before us and prepare that place where we will meet. I pray for all those who will share as we prepare. Lord let Your words be in our hearts and mouths. Let Your love flow among the women at Clearriver. As Your daughters, “Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He Who promised is faithful.” (Hebrews 10:23) Thank You Father!

  6. jeffling Says:

Father, thank you for Mary, Ann and Barbara’s commitment to prayer. Bring blessing to them. Lord, inspire us to seek Your face and be filled with a desire for Your glory. In Jesus name, Amen!

  7. Joining you down here in South Africa when I am able to connect to the internet – this is so wonderful! Thank you! Dick Eastman’s guide is fabulous. I would greatly appreciate prayers for protection here as I am walking (literally) and on occasion driving through dangerous areas. Also that God anoints, empowers and puts my whole missions itinerary together here in South Africa, then Dubai, Perth (Australia) and Singapore. I return to the U.S. on June 13th. Bless everyone at Clear River!

  8. Bob Yarbrough Says:

I praise the Lord for this link that helps us to know that as we pray we are joining so many across the world in the intercession of Jesus. He is working in us to bring His kingdom as we believe!

  9. I am continuing to pray for healing and comfort for Bob Sturm. thanking Him in praise for all the prayers He has already answered!

  10. Pam Burrowes Says:

Lord, I am praying for an outpouring of your spirit in the form of healing for the body of believers. For all those who suffer with nagging health issues, I pray that our merciful Father cover all the hurts and illnesses with a healing balm and a renewed sense of His love and encouragement. Lord you are the author of all mercies and miracles. Thank you Jesus!

  11. Erica Burnett Says:

Dear Lord, as I pray today for you to prepare places and people, I pray also that you would prepare us as a body at Clear River to reach out to those places and people. I pray that you would convict those we know, and I also pray that you would convict me and my fellow believers in the areas that we fail to obey your word. And I pray that you would empower us to speak boldly and give us wisdom when we speak. Amen.

  12. Bob Calvillo Says:

Father God, I thank you for oh so many things which my family and I are blessed with as well as our church. Please keep your mighty hand over us all as we lift each and everyone to you. I especially lift up my family, my wife Cheryl and all our children. Thank you Father for so much including the problems in our lives. I pray for our troops who defend us day and night, our leaders that you will show them wisdom and great courage to keep this nation blessed. I pray for Jeff, Zibby and their family as they truly are the pointy end of our prayer spears. Lord thank you for your sacrifice for us. I ask you watch constantly over us and our church. I know Father God that great things happen when we mix with you and this church surely is headed that way. We ask all this in your name. Amen.

  13. Jim Fox Says:

Heavenly Father, I thank you for all of our political leaders today. I pray that you give them wisdom and grace. I pray for all of those running for office, that you would pour out your grace and mercy on them, lead them in Your ways and keep them safe as well. I especially pray for all of our military, that you would keep them out of harms way. In Jesus Name Amen.

  14. David Trujillo Says:

Lord, though it’s hard to say this, i thank you for the dry times. i know these are ways for you to make me thirsty for you, to long for your fellowship. fill me up this day with your living waters. refresh me. revive me. love me. so that i might share a drink with others in my life today.
    I love you Jesus.

  15. I am so grateful for my Lord Jesus Christ being in my life. He has ministered to me in so many ways that I cannot count them all. If it were not for Jesus taking such good care of me, I would not be where I am today. I love my church, my pastor, his family and the Godly church family that I get to share Jesus with every Sunday. Please pray for my family that they come to know Jesus.

  16. Heavnly Father thank you for all those missions all over the world that I am a part of and those that I’m not. I especially pray for Paula, keep her safe as she continues to spread Your word. I pray for the Buckners, Johniie and Debbie and their family, David Shirk and all those that we know and hold dear in Your Name Amen.

  17. Carol Trujillo Says:

How wonderful to read all the updates of the missionaries and be able to send emails of encouragement. I pray that their inboxes will be filled with uplifting words and support. I pray that all the missionaries will experience a spiritual refreshing through the prayers of the saints. As Jeff said, we are all in God’s army, and it is an honor to battle along side these wonderful giving souls.

  18. Ted Dutton Says:

I personally want to thank the lord in the fact that ,when we face lifes
ruff and tumbles that he’s there paving the way, his word says no trials
that come our way are to great to bare and that the Lord walks with
    us through it

  19. I am so thankful to the Lord to be a part of the Clear River community. Although I can and do get excited about things, I am, by nature, more of a cerebral sort of fellow. I thank God for the manner in which Jeff and others of you challenge me toward a more intimate relationship with Jesus. I am not very good at it these days, I’ll admit, although at one time in my early walk with Jesus, He and I enjoyed a great deal of intimacy. Being around my Christian brothers and sisters inspires me to want to seek Him more. Thank you Lord, and thank you my friends at Clear River.

  20. Gervine Somers Says:

I am so thankful for every opportunity to be with the Clear River family. My prayer is that each one of us will draw in even closer to our Savior as the enemy rages against our commitment to enter the battle. It has been my experience that when the enemy comes in like a flood people become discouraged instead of intensifying every aspect of their walk with Christ. May that not be the testimony of Clear River and that in the heat of this battle we will forge forward with Christ to guide us. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen!

  21. april 16 2008 AT 11:30 GARY SOMERS PRAYER CLEAR RIVER CHURCH WE HAVE A STORY,FLOW,BATTLE,MOMENT. THE KEYS: UNDERSTANDING ALL THIS IS THE HOLY SPIRIT DECIDES THE TIMING OF EACH MAJOR TESTING IN OUR LIFE.THE HOLY SPIRIT GUIDES US INTO OUR WILDERNESS OF BATTLE.THE HOLY SPIRIT NEVER MAKES MISTAKES IN OUR SEASONS OF TESTING.LETS PRAY:”HEAVENLY FATHER,IN OUR TESTING YOU QUALIFIES US FOR A PROMOTION AND PROMOTION QUALIFIES US FOR REWARDS AND REWARDS INCREASE THE FLOW OF JOY. WE WILL RECEIVE THE GLORY AND PRAISE IN JESUS” NAME. AMEN.”

  22. Cathy Robinson Says:

I have experienced many seasons in my life that I can (now) directly relate back to God working something out in me. I am often unaware in the moment what is occurring or why, and it has only been in the last year or so that I have shifted my thinking. Now when I find myself in the middle of a difficult situation, instead of asking God “Why” I ask, “What is it that you are requiring of me here?” This is a hard question to ask and I don’t always like the answer.

I do not do well in the neighborhood of the unknown. The death of my daughter Mary was a detour that has left me stranded right in the middle of that neighborhood. At times I feel lost and confused and the familiar seems anything but. To say it is an uncomfortable place to be would be understating things immensely.

God is causing me to be solely dependent on him. He is my reality check and I find myself seeking Him out for even the smallest of things. He helps me to get my bearings and stay on course, He is my compass, and I have no choice but to rely on His direction.

I desire to live a life abandoned to God, sold out completely to His will, but that desire often gets side tracked as I slip back into following my own agenda and then I become complacent and that is when the Holy Spirit gets out the Detour sign and once again I am lead out of the familiar town into the neighborhood of the unknown.

Lord I thank you for calling me out of the familiar into the unknown. Lord I pray that you will call out Clear River. Take us to a place that requires us to seek you, to trust you fully as you lead us in to unknown waters. Help us to stand against the current of resistance as the river of life flows from you, through us, to others. We praise you Father

  23. Cindy Brooks Says:

I have been off work for a few days and finally taken some time to be still and truly seek to hear God’s voice. I just this morning figured out how to navigate to the Clear River prayer blog, and was moved to tears as I’ve read the thoughts and passages of the past two days.

Both passages truly resonate with what I’ve been hearing God speak to me. His words to me have been bitter pills to swallow. I’ve had to come to terms with the reality that I trust God in my head, but not in my heart and my obedience to His voice is probably less than that of a rebellious teenager. I spend so much time asking God “Why?” I am in certain situations, that I never get to the point of knowing “What” He is refining in me or preparing me for next, or “How” He wants to accomplish these things in me.

The one year Bible reading yesterday was from the passage in Luke (referenced on day 16). As I was reading the passage, I paused at verse 39, where the blind man was being yelled at by the crowd to be quiet. So often I am quieted by the yelling voices of the crowd instead of earnestly crying out to God. My “crowd” is the voice of the enemy that tries to convince me that God can’t be trusted, I don’t know Him well enough to hear His voice, and that I will quickly drown if I dive into “unknown waters.”

God, thank you for your faithfulness to me. Replace my fears with the acceptance of you perfect love. Give me the confidence to trust you completely and to be willingness to be boldly obedient to your voice.

  24. Bob Calvillo Says:

Father and mighty God, your name alone resonates power and love. Please Father protect this church and those in it as we continue our relentless and oh so very tough battle to seek you and hold onto you.

Lord tonight I pray especially for those youths that are traveling to ATF and I thank you so, so much for blessing us with a Youth Pastor who is so very right at home with us here at Clear River and with our children. He is a mighty warrior in your name who exudes nothing but love and kindness for our youth, the future of our legacies. Lord watch over them as we ask traveling mercies and your mighty but loving hand as you hold our youth in your hands. We ask that their hearts, minds and bodies come back to us with so much fire and your light that the enemy will fear and shrink away from them as they look solely to you and your wisdom, love and guidance.

Lord I also ask for protection tonight on our other youths who are attending proms in our county, that you put a heavy hand and hedge of protection around them and their friends. Tonight Lord as my wife had so lovingly asked “Please don’t take any home tonight and if you do that you take them home with love and open arms”. We ask Lord for your protection around them as they go to enjoy this memorable night in their lives and that they experience nothing but fun, peace and happiness.

Lastly, I ask and lift up my PRISM group who together as a band of Brothers and Sisters we battle the enemy through food struggles. Lord we want nothing more than to be your humble servants and through your love, and wisdom will show us the right things to eat and the spirit to exercise as we better our hearts, minds and bodies not only for you but for our families and ourselves. I ask continued protection on them and us all as we struggle in this battle.

We are your humble servants Lord who want nothing more than to serve and love you. Thank you for the “fleas” Lord at term you know so well and also our problems we face each and everyday. They provide us the opportunity to always look to you as our Father for safety, love and protection. I ask this all in your Holy and Heavenly Name. Amen

  25. Mike Henry Says:

Today’s prayer focus is near to my heart, and certainly flows with some conviction the Holy Spirit brought to me from some words that Bob D spoke Sunday about something he spoke to the youth at ATF.

Bob commented how the youth worshipped exuberantly at ATF, but when asked why they don’t do that at church it was because the music isn’t as exciting. He pointed out that the music isn’t what should make them worship, but God IS the object of worship!

Truly I am the same! If the music doesn’t move me to worship, I have a hard time getting into the mood. What a sad statement about my opinion of God, if I need outside stimuli to stir me to lift his name. Rather, I should prime my pump with the words of worship in scripture and let that lift my spirit to worship beyond my feelings. When the Holy Spirit fills those words and the music lifts, then I approach worship. When the Spirit moves me to fall on my face before God in a Holy encounter, then awe becomes worship.

God help me to understand who You truly are, and let worship spontaneously flow from me in response to this understanding. God, also let this true understanding of You clearly help me to see the importance of letting everyone around me know about You as well. Amen.

  26. Catherine Robinson Says:

Father fill our hearts with abundant grace for those whom we come in contact with. Give us eyes of Jesus to see beyond the exterior and into the heart. Give us ears of Jesus to hear beyond words said, to those which are unspoken. Give us the compassion of Jesus to love the sinner behind the sin. Give us the light of Jesus, so that we can be the lamp on the hill which points people to the hope that is Jesus. Let us be willing to lay down our own agenda’s to follow God’s wherever that leads and to whomever that sends us, and once we get there, give us the voice of Jesus that beckons the lost to come home.

Stir up a hunger in our hearts Lord that cannot be satisfied apart from you. To your glory Father we commit our lives.

  27. Stephen Becker Says:

It encourages me more than I could ever say, to know that I am a part of a praying community. I feel drawn closer to the heart of God every time I read one of your prayers. I am also reminded of Paul words to the Philippians, “I thank my God in all my remembrance of you always in every prayer of mine for you all making my prayer with joy, because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now.” (Phil. 1:3-4).

  28. Norman Skow Says:

Father God may your Holy Spirit work within us that we might speak and bring the saving grace of Jesus Christ to people who have not yet been reached for your eternal glory and Kingdom. We pray for those in government to act in a moral and rightous manner. That our candidates running for the office of President of the United States will experience wisdom and other good good gifts of the Holy Spirit. That they will ask you for direction in how to lead this country. Father we praise your holy name and ask for your blessing for the Pastor and Design Team of Clear River Community Church that they hear your direction and fulfill your divine plan for our church. We ask that you protect and make successful the couragous efforts of the missionaries and followers of Christ that our church supports both financially and prayerfully. May their efforts to bring others to Christ be successful and of a great number, and protect them Lord as they often travel a difficult and dangerous road. Lord we thank you for your goodness and grace. Help us to hear you in the quite moments that we may grow in the knowledge and understanding of your eternal plan for our lives. AMEN

  29. Catherine Robinson Says:

    Lord,
Hear our pleas for your healing over those among us who are suffering physically, emotionally, spiritually, financially or in any other way that may be a cause of pain or sorrow in their lives. Lord we specifically ask that you pour out your grace and extend a healing hand to Pam Burrowes, Gary Somers, and Bob Sturm.
Lord we stand in the gap for our neighbors, co-workers, and families, again asking for mercy for those who have yet to say the Deeper Yes. Help us Lord to be seed planters in their lives, sowing your message of love, forgiveness, restoration and hope. Fill us O Lord with Living Waters, for we are thirsty! Amen

  30. Father I Humble myself and submit to your word that speaks exposes, sifts, analyzes and judges the very thoughts and purpose of my heart. Father, I test my own actions, so that I might have appropriate self, esteem without comparing myself to anyone else. The security of your guidance will allow me to carry my own load with energy and confidence.Father I know that power in your name JESUS, I refuse to be wise in my own eyes: but I choose to fear You, and shun evil in my heart with your help. This will bring health to my body and nourishment to my bones. When consider,or comprehend your great love for me my heart stops.I bless clear river church and all my brothers I bless them with abundance according to your word.I bless them Lord, with anointing for the task you have given them.Father,in the name of the most High GOD may your blessing be upon clear river, Your covering mantle of abundance and grace surround them through OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST,your divine protection, miracles, provision will invaded our world and let there be a blessing of a release of spiritual power and favor in someones life which has tangible and measurable results. “AMEN”.

  31. Lord, I thank you for your Holy Spirit and Your giving of miracles among our ClearRiver Family. I pray that You will continue to pour out Your spirit on us in a mighty way with whomever we come in contact with. That our Clear River family will continue to use Your Spirit to bless many who cross our paths and within our midst. Bring Your peace and grace and let us be a blessing to all. In Jesus Name, Amen.

  32. Erica Burnett Says:

Thank you Lord for your generous spirit! Thank you that you are a good and giving God, and that every good gift comes from you. Thank you for the amazing, practical way that I saw that generosity though members of Clear River yesterday. You again showed how you take care of me and my family. I pray that your healing rain would pour out abundantly, into our physical, emotional, and spiritual lives. And through that healing that we would walk in your generosity. Help us to lay down our lives before you, that you may accomplish your will in and through us. Amen!!

  34. Father, Pastor Jeff was teaching us how to pray for every one in authority with a good and clear conscience so we can be considered faithful, appointing to his service with sound teaching with faith and love in JESUS CHRIST with the help of the HOLY spirit who lives in us.HE also said to lift up holy hands” in prayer, with out anger. he calls us to intercession and thanksgiving. “The only spiritual light in the world comes through JESUS CHRIST and the inspired Book…Without His presence and the teachings of the Bible we would be enshrouded in moral darkness and despair….nations without Christ, contrasted with those where Christ is accepted, reveal so marked a difference that no arguments are needed”–Samuel Colgate. “AMEN”

  35. Zibby Ling Says:

Lord, I pray for my sister Jennie who has been through so much.
I pray you would heal her body.
I pray you would provide for her every need.
I pray you would heal her heart and help her to forgive.
I pray you would take her to that deep place of understanding your peace and joy even in the midst of the storms.
Help Jennie be confident of that fact that you are at work – that “your thoughts are higher than her thoughts.”
Lord Jesus, I praise you that you will never leave us for forsake us – not one of us! And I thank you for your faithfulness to forgive us when we refuse to do things your way. You are a loving Father – so kind and patient. Let us all be desparate for you. Amen.

  36. Catherine Robinson Says:

    Father,
Let our lives reflect you in such a way, that even if no words are spoken, your glory is revealed through us. Help us Lord to be the light that beckons others to ask about the source, a gentle light that warms and invites, not a harsh light that causes people to shield their eyes and shrink away to the shadows. Let our door be viewed as the one in the neighborhood with the “safe sign”, the place others will know to run when they are hurting, in trouble, or just need some encouragement.

Most of all Lord put a desire in our hearts to give the gift of time to others, to take a few moments to ask “How are you”, to really listen when they respond and to be bold enough to offer to pray for them.

  37. On Monday, May 5th our home group will be purposefully going out into Centreville looking for where God is moving in the lives of the people of our city. PRAY we have favor with the people we met and pray we have the eyes and heart of the LORD. Similarly to when Jesus met the woman at the well or when he went out of his way to find Syrophoenician Woman whose daughter was sick. This will require us to be bold, sensitive and daring … pulling many of us out of where we feel comfortable… Pray that the LORD’s kingdom comes and that His will will be done in Centreville as it is in heaven.

  38. Zibby Ling Says:

My daughter Jennifer takes her SAT’s for the 1st time this Saturday.
Would you please join me in prayer for her?
    Pray that she does well.
Pray she does not need to take the SAT’s again.
Pray she works quickly and thoroughly as she answers each question.
Pray that she is rested and able to concentrate.
Pray that God gives her peace while she takes the test.
    Most important of all…
Please pray that God is glorified in every way. :-)

  39. I am praying for the marriages of Clear River. I am praying that the men and woman of Clear River will do the hard work of marriage and learn to submit one to another. I am praying that we as parents will live lives that are worthy of honor and that our children will walk out the 4th commandment with out a struggle within their own hearts. I am praying that as the world pulls down the idea of marriage that Clear River’s couples would walk out and be an example of what commitment really is. Father, bless us with tender, meaningful, growing and honoring marriages. In Jesus name – Amen

  40. Dear Lord, I am praying for my best friend Pam Burrowers today. I am asking you to be with her as she is having surgery tomorrow morning. I pray that you give the doctors wisdom and guide their hands. That the surgery is a great success. Also, watch over her daughter who is flying in to take care of her mom. May all Pam’s pain be gone without any after effects. You are our Father. The mighty physician. Kings of Kings, Lord of Lords, you take care of each and everyone of us. There is no other God for us. I love you Father. I trust you, I look to you for all things. Please watch over and take care of the members in my church who also are suffering with different health problems, but you know all that God and I am sure you are taking care of them, too. I can’t thank you enough Lord for your protection. I feel your love for me and I know you love my church and the people who attend. You have sent us the best Pastor and his loving family to us. We can’t thank you enough for him. We are Blessed.

  41. In Luke chapter 18 there is a parable of a persistent widow. I would love for our church to pray with that parable in mind for Anne’s and my neighbor, Haneen. Our church supplied her family with food about a year ago but now she needs our prayers. Her home will be sold in foreclosure on Monday unless she can get a Judge to move on her behalf get her husband to pay the back mortgage. She is schedule to meet with the Judge on Wednesday, May 7th and her home goes for sale on Monday the 12th … like the parable says we need the LORD to move quickly! Tonight 4 of our guys went by her home and fixed up her mower and other items but most importantly we prayed with her and her family in her shed and in her drive way … May God get the glory !!

  42. Paul S. Kraft Says:

Last night Mike Henry & I shared a meal at the Texas Roadhouse, with the distinct purpose of touching someone’s life. We spent a fair amount of time talking with our waitress Chelsea, and we invited her to join us at church on Sunday. She seemed very interested, even pulling out a slip of paper & jotting down the time– she lives very near Stone Middle School. Pray, and keep praying that she will come, as she said she would. Pray, and be ready to welcome her on Sunday, and ask that the Lord would touch her in a significant way in the service. Most of all, pray that she does actually come on Sunday. We thank God for this young lady, and pray that God would have His way in her life. –PSK

  43. Dear Church Family –

Haneen – is very happy, she called my wife and said the judge was tough and quick. – Her husband’s lawyer was going to make an opening statement but the judge said. “Look – he was order to pay this already and we only have 10 minutes, He will pay the mortgage or go to jail!”

Man – is this an exact answer to our prayer or what! – we posted this on the prayer blog “In Luke chapter 18 there is a parable of a persistent widow. She is schedule to meet with the Judge on Wednesday, May 7th and her home goes for sale on Monday the 12th … like the parable says we need the LORD to move quickly!”

Now – press on and ask the Lord to open her heart to coming to church on Sunday (mothers day) – Pray also for the gal that Paul and Mike invited on Monday too. On the prayer blog – “We spent a fair amount of time talking with our waitress Chelsea, and we invited her to join us at church on Sunday. She seemed very interested, even pulling out a slip of paper & jotting down the time– she lives very near Stone Middle School. Pray, and keep praying that she will come, as she said she would.”

    Give us the nations LORD…

    Amen? Amen..

  44. Robin Sturm Says:

Father, I pray for those that are involved in our lives but who still do not know you. Please let us be effective witnesses and ambassadors of You, so that they will want to experience your love, mercy, compassion, patience and forgiveness themselves. Please give us the strength to continue praying for them, and I ask that you give us constant reminders of your presence. Amen

  45. I forgot that this space was open. Please forgive me for leaving a blank space. I don’t know what happened. Maybe God wants me to be more careful and to slow down and smell the roses. He wants me to remember that He is my father and loves me so much that he means it when he says he will never leave me nor forsake him. Not anyone else will take my woes and my troubles and carry them for me. I am so blessed to be in a church that really cares for us and every Sunday we are taught to honor and obey the Lord Jesus. That he is our all. Everyone in our church are caring and loving people. You can feel it. And, you know that they truly love you. They are there for you. Praying and lifting you, and your family to the Lord each and every day. I know that I am blessed by you all every day. I can’t thank God enough for bringing all of you into my life. How can I thank you, I really can’t but I want you all to know that you and your families are in my prayers. Blessings and Love, Teri Lutz
