Welcome to the 40 Days of Prayer Blog

Thanks for visiting the blog! Why 40 days? The number 40 in scripture is associated with testing and endurance. The good news is that the test is meant to culminate in a new level of victory or maturity. Jesus was tempted for 40 days in the wilderness. Afterwards the scripture says that he returned in the “power of the Spirit.” Without question we need to come forth in the power of God’s Spirit today! Together in prayer we can partner with God in advancing His kingdom priorties in our lives, our church and our nation. Over the next 40 days this blog will provide daily themes for prayer so that we can intercede in one heart and mind. Along with the prayer themes, we’ll list the daily scripture readings as well as provide links to helpful sites that will encourage you and instruct you in developing your prayer life. I want you to know that I look forward to praying with you and for you over the next 40 days. – His Kingdom come! His will be done! – Pastor Jeff

    Pastor Jeff,

I welcome the emphasis on united congregational prayer over a 40 day period. We are joining a host of others world-wide who are engaged with us in extending the intercession of Jesus for His purposes to be fulfilled in earth as it is in heaven. His Name assures the ultimate “success” of such prayer!

    Blessings,
    Bob
